If you know me at all, you know that mornings are not my thing. I hate waking up and, if I had it my way, I would sleep in every day of the week. That being said, this weekend I got to wake up in the best possible way. In my bed at the beach, with the sound of waves crashing just outside my window and the breeze off the ocean softly crawling over me. If I could wake up like that every day, you could wake me up at any hour!
I have several favorite places in the world, but St. Teresa beach is undoubtedly up there. This weekend was wonderful, complete with mouth-watering seafood, walks on the beach, boat rides, and soaking up the sun.
I love going out on the boat, and my uncle spotted a group of porpoises so we hurried out to see them. Aunt Bea and I sat up front and watched in awe.
A lot of the weekend was spent walking on the beach, catching up with everyone, and devouring my aunt's delicious cooking!
Sunday after Beach Church, we took the boat out again for a picnic on a deserted island about an hour away. We brought our colorful umbrella and swam, ate, and enjoyed the day.
Way too early Monday morning, we woke up and hit the road so that I could be back in time for class that afternoon [Vanderbilt has class on Labor Day...lame]. I was sad to say goodbye and officially conclude another crazy but fun summer, but I enjoyed this beautiful final sunset.
