Last night I had a wonderful, festive night celebrating my dear friend Katherine's new job in New York! Her roomies just thought it'd be fun to throw a little spur-of-the-moment surprise party to celebrate her and the new job…and of course all of her friends jumped on board!
First, I want to highlight what a wonderful artist Katherine is! We actually became friends in Intro to Painting class at Wake Forest. Clearly she was extremely talented and I was just there trying to fulfill my art requirement. Regardless, it was so fun getting to paint and talk that semester and we have stayed friends ever since! You can find her original paintings on Etsy, or get cool prints on fun items like phone cases and pillows here!
I love going over to their house because they always have new paintings on display and adorable decor in general :)
As for the surprise party, everyone was waiting on the chicly decorated back porch when Katherine came home from Bible study. She was shocked, obviously, to be greeted by a porch full of friends!
The porch was decorated with flowers and New York signs, as well as this adorable bouquet that Allison and Natalie made her.
All guests were instructed to wear black since New York City is known for its trendy fashion. The attire was just an added little bonus.
All in all, it was a fun, spontaneous celebration and reminded me that we should celebrate the little things in life more often. We are sad to have Katherine leaving Nashville, but are thrilled for this new adventure! We love you, Katherine!
xoxo
